Gratitude for PRIMED: a Painterly Exhibition at Red Door No. 5 Gallery

"Arm Crook" oil on canvas at Red Door No. 5 Gallery in Tampa, FL

November is a time for reflection and gratitude and I wanted to take this moment to say "Thank you!"

I have so many things to be thankful for this year - a freshly minted degree, an amazing partner in life, a wild dog named Lucius Fox, a new home (in a neighborhood where people wave to you when you get your mail, where am I Mayberry?!), a health baby girl in utero, endless streaming of Forensic Files on Netflix and OH YEAH, a busy studio practice!

My most valuable studio bud, Lucius.

I've been working hard since I made Tampa my full time residence in May of this year. Much of that time has been devoted to figuring out how to move with a growing a human being.

And yet despite all the fun (read: extreme sarcasm) that comes along with pregnancy, I've been able to craft this beautiful show, PRIMED, at the Red Door No. 5 Gallery. It's the first show proposal that I spearheaded, featuring my favorite medium of all time - paint! I'm super proud of it! Along with fellow talents, Caitlin Albritton and Michele Francouer, PRIMED celebrates the innumerable ways that paint can be pushed around on a primed surface.

Here's a bit of a inside scoop of the show, for my far flung readers. All works are available for collectors to purchase.

P.S. Thank you to Alyson Maier for the lovely installation!
