Eternal Optimist is a sun seeker. She's leaning into warmth and glow. She's your "classic" beauty, good vibes and flows in between time and space. Eternal could be present now, or fifty years ago. There's a little pause when you see her. Like a reminder to take a breath.
Look closely to see the broken colors of sap green, yellow ochre, and alizirin crimsion that form the contours of her cheek bone, upper brow and forehead. Some of my favorite moments are the splay of light that dots her eyelashes, brow, bridge and fleshy cheek.
She is juxtaposed, intentionally against a cool fabric to balance the warmth in her skin tones. The fabric in this piece was glazed to increase it's chromal intensity.
This piece is a star in a galaxy of awesome paintings.
17 pieces were created around a common theme: Eye Traps.
Inspired by a strict guide by a religious cult, The IBLP (The Institute of Basic Life Priniciples), of appropriate dress and presentation for women, I set out to create a tapestry of oil paintings on fabric. Each woman is unique but they also work together as an amazing visual quilt. They're bright, beautiful, introspective, and most importantly autonomous.

Eternal Optimist is varnished for aesthetics and longevity.
She is lovely unframed but would look stunning in a floating frame, too.
