Wrap is part of the Lifeline series, which explored how hair is a nurturing force in my life (I grew up in a salon, worked in salon through college and my grandmother, mother and cousin are all hair stylists). Paint is an opportunity for me to simulate touch in absence.  In this painting, my husband pressed my hair into his chest, as we spent 3 years apart while I earned my MFA.
