The Projection series is an exploration about how saturated light, projection, pattern and color relate to the figure. The artist David Reed wrote extensively about technicolor light, the rich way in which the contemporary viewer interacts with imagery via a screen, versus the historical illumination of natural light. My experience of color and projected light is experienced thought light: a television, a computer screen, a projector, or a phone. I am particularly influenced by the true crime shows that I obsessively consume through a device. Similar to my paintings, in each episode, the body is always the catalyst in the narrative.
