PRIMED is a small group show featuring artists Caitlin Albritton, Ashley Cassens, and Michele Francoeur, which explores the multitude of approaches in a singular medium, paint. PRIMED is the first collective show bringing these Florida-based artist’s together.
Caitlin Albritton is a Tampa-based artist currently earning her MFA at Maryland Institute College of Art. Her recent paintings explore gym culture and body politics, and how this sexuality, competitiveness, and propaganda of progress seeps into other spheres of our lives.
A native Floridian, Ashley Cassens is a recent MFA graduate from Florida Atlantic University and holds a BFA from Florida Southern College. Her intimately charged oil paintings explore how paint be a conduit for touch in absentia. She sensitively paints vibrant figurative works form her Tampa studio.
Michele Francoeur hails from West Palm Beach, FL and earned her MFA from Florida Atlantic University. Her recent abstract paintings highlight the need for solitude while combining new technology, like the laser cutter, to bridge her background in graphic design and book making.

Red Door No. 5 is a beautiful gallery located in the renovated Fire Station No. 5 in Tampa Heights. With over 1900 square feet of gallery space, it is the perfect location for both up-and-coming and established Tampa Bay-area artists.
